It is often stated that to know who you are and where you are going, you need to know where you came from.  Every family history is filled with rich stories of family plight, successes, trials, and tribulations.   The Batson and Viney families hold no exception.  To understand their plight, we need to understand their life.  The decisions our forefathers made centuries ago have shaped our lives into what they are today.  For that, we owe them gratitude.  To show them gratitude, we will remember them, understand them, and pass down their legacy to the generations to come.  So thus begins the journey into our ancestors’ lives and, therefore, a path to self-discovery.
