Batson - Viney Website
|
Passage to AustraliaThe tree consists of the VINEY ancestors who emigrated
from Lancashire, England to Australia in 1924. The VINEYs
become Australians when the family migrates to Australia in 1924.
Harold Viney was a collier and worked in the nearby coal mines in
Lancashire, England. His health was
suffering from the effects of the mines so he and his wife, Edith, decided to
move to Australia to start afresh. In
1924, they arrived in Australia on the RMS Ormuz and eventually settled in Ascot
Vale in Victoria.
Harold
and Edith had a son, Living VINEY, who married Joan CUMMING which tied the two
families together.
